I have had my dog Zeta for 3 years now. I got her from an animal shelter where I volunteered. I was told from the shelter that she was a GSD/Boxer mix, but she does not have a snout like a boxer at all. She is very smart and playful. She follows me wherever I go and loves to cuddle. She is wary of strangers and "stranger" dogs, but absolutely loves my family and plays a lot with all of their dogs. What do you think??? She is about 58 lbs. and has all the personality traits of a DS that I have read about.

I don't see boxer, but something about the head and the brindle pattern says there's GSD or maybe Akita in the mix. In the 2nd picture, the snout looks like it lacks the angulation a DS has. I've seen DS without the mal like sharpness (mine has a rather large head), but this one looks just a little long and boxy, more like the German Shepherd.

The body is also wide, DS tend to have a thinner bone structure, but it could possibly be a DS or DS mix. Not every dog out there is bred to standards, so without seeing mom and dad it's anyone's guess.

There are others on here with more experience though with standards, so maybe they can help more. Either way, your dog is gorgeous and welcome to the forum!

Its hard to tell in the pics, she is very pretty though and looks so cute with her toy sleeping. Her head is boxy for a DS but I have no idea what else could be in there.

Definitely has some GSD in there, and you mention a lot of DS like behaviors, so it's a good possibility. I'm new to DS, myself, but there are many very experienced folk here who can chime in with more authority. Either way, she's a good-looking gal and you can make some good friends and get great information from this forum!

With all the brindle and the shepherd look my guess is she has dutch shepherd in her. She is beautiful. Sitting in the car looks more dutch. Glad you were able to rescue her. She is a very lucky girl to have found you!
