I've discovered some new (at least, new-to-me ) toys that Geyser loves and which stand up to her mouth! Yay!

They're the Kong squeeky toys. Lots of sizes (we get the medium ones), and we have the long tubish toy, and the one that looks like a donut/bagel.

We started out with just one, then it got lost (it's gotta be around here someplace, but if my nosework ace can't find it, it probably got accidently taken outside and is lost in some weeds or something...we have inside toys and outside toys, and these are inside toys ).

She loves ring shaped toys, so when I got another tube one, I also got one of the donut/bagel ones. She loves them both.

The squeekers stand up, too, which isn't necessarily a great thing , but in most squeeky toys she's had, they're the first thing to go.

They come in some great colors, that are clear as opposed to solid. I always go for blue and/or yellow toys, since those are the colors that dogs can see.

cool!!!! Ill have to check them out!! The only one that i have that has stood up to the girls tug of war is a rubber double ring toy that I found an an Agway. Many of thier toys are buried under the snow so ill have to wait to do some inventory.

Do you think they would stand up to someone who goes through a Large black kong every 3 months? I get an employee discount on the kong products and it would be completely worth it if it lasted at least a month here just to give Odin something extra to play with.

Odin goes through a Kong that fast !! Wow.

I'll have to check that out. Our little dog loves squeaky toys but she can kill a squeaker in an hour....lol

as long as they are not covered by tennis-ball nylon it sounds great.

Lyric also destroys the Kong toys very quickly. It can get pretty expensive, so I quit buying them. Sooo glad I found the Gonuts toy, and that she loves it so much.
I have ONE big Kong left that is used ONLY to freeze her meal occasionally, and I take it back as soon as it's empty.

Hank LOVES to squeaky toys , we haven't had good luck with the Kong squeaky toys though. I'm lucky if they hold up for a day or two. On the rings/donuts type toy they are glued together and he's so strong he pulls it apart. With the balls there is an inside chamber that holds the squeaker, again glued into place, he gets those into his mouth and bites down hard and the inner chamber comes unglued. I have yet to find a squeaky toys that lasts with him.

On another note, the durafoam frisbee is GREAT! He can chew on it, pull on it, fold it, bury it and it still works great. Doesn't come apart or get warped like hard frisbees and much easier on the teeth for catching. Highly reccomended!

I only pay $5 each for the black kongs, so it seems like a good deal for me still. I would just like more variety than a kong and deer antlers. He has a super high ball drive and they're the only things that can be used for chewing, nosework, fetch, and tied to a rope for tug rewards. They're so versatile, I just wish there were some other options.

Lyric was driving me crazy with her "Dogs Goughnuts" toy last night.(I was trying very hard to watch TV.) These are solid rubber, and she really gives it a workout. It's her favorite toy and has lasted 1 1/2 years! They come with a full replacement guarantee.

So cute...love the smile when she is done, and look how nice and shiny her coat is!

I guess I could give one a try. Each toy only gets 1 free replacement though, and at $30 each, if he destroys it, that still makes it cost more than the kong in the long run. I think I might get the ball and see how it goes.

Stephanie...here's the thing about these toys, at least for Geyser.

Every single other toy I've gotten for her has been totally destroyed (haven't tried the gonuts yet). For some reason, she just doesn't want to chew on these the same as she'll settle down and work other things until they're in pieces.

We play together with them a lot, kind of silly tuggish and catch games, or when I'm just walking from one room to another and she's on the side of me, wanting me to hold the toy and sort of tug with her as I walk. (Yes, she's spoiled ).

She does a lot of squeeking with them ( a LOT ) which is where they get the most wear and tear.

I gaver her an older toy the other day, that I save (it's great in water, it long and twisted latex or something, floats...I only have two left); she had the end torn off in no time.

Why she doesn't tear these up, I don't know, but I"m sure glad to have found something that she likes so she has more than one toy. The mid-sized ones are around $10, so maybe worth a try for Odin.

Chris, she looks so happy, and beautiful !! Ill have to try the goughnuts. With my girls, if they cant destroy it they dont want it. They love the antlers and play tug with them then chew them.

I might as well try. We have a nosework class on Monday night, so he's coming to work with me and I might take a few off the shelves to see how he handles them. Which one is your favorite?

Is she french? So far Odin's really only been really fond of French lines, he actually has 3 French mal girlfriends, but he does like the ladies as long as they boss him around.

We almost moved to VA. My husband was in the Navy reserve and was in Norfolk for 3 summers before we were married, and would've probably have been stationed there at one point or another had he taken the commission and gone active.

It would be nice to meet you though and so many of the forum members here. We have a large malinois community around me, but not too many with DS and there's almost none that do agility and comp obedience.

Lyric has never been given any of the cloth type toys that can be chewed, shredded, or picked apart. She does love the antlers, but she doesn't get them "free choice". She does know which drawer they are in, and will sit in front of it begging me to get one out for her.

It's just my personal view, that if you don't want a destructive dog, then you don't encourage/allow them to tear apart toys. I'm also one of those real mean mom's who doesn't allow them on furniture or beds.
