Sadie is stuck where ???

Post by Dutchringgirl »

Ok, I admit, she IS a Dutchie, a very very smart breed. She is smart, I swear, she does smart things, she can find her tail. So... she is a big girl, not the small dainty lady like Thalie. They traded beds tonight, dont know why but Thalie confiscated Sadies bed. So Sadie was next to my bed, quietly sleeping, then I hear scratching, so I look over the side and see two paws sticking out from under the bed. Yep, under. My bed is not very high off the ground. I have no idea how she got under there, it has been quiet. It is wood under the bed so she looks like she is swimming, not going anywhere. I have these thoughs of lifting up my bed. They are only thoughts, my bed is very heavy. I see this very embarassed Sadie looking back at me. legs all different ways. I grab her arm pits and pull her out. She is shaking and kissing me and all worried. Poor Sadie. Thalie is not looking, she wont accept that someone of this breed actually slid under the bed and couldnt get out.

Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.

Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!

I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences.

Tell us about yourself: I am in New York State. Got my first DS about 14 years ago (more or less as a rescue- lost her in Nov.). After years of GSD's, and a few dogs of other breeds (Rotti/Beauceron/Ger. Shorthaired Pointer/ Yorkie and my current Jack Russell) I now have another DS, 4mo female, no name yet, tho I have a few in mind.
Also have a horse-old quarter horse mare-32.
Can't wait for all the snow to get gone! Spring is coming too slow this year!

Tell us about yourself: Artist, Mother, Equestrienne, Educator, Homesteader wannabe, dog-lover. Not counting my current DS, I have had 2 GSDs and 3 rescued mixed-breeds. All of these dogs were rescues, except for my childhood GSD, who was a gift from my parents when I was 7, and my current DS who I bartered artwork for from the breeder. Maiyou, one of my current dogs, is a Pitbull/New Guinea Singing Dog of 13 years old. Still very active and "Young" in nature. I now also have a DS named Mokume, (pronounced "Moh-koo-meh") or "Moko" for short. Newest member of our pack is Freyja, a random mixed hound I rescued during a horseback trip in the middle of a state forest.

Tell us about yourself: Hi.....my name is Angela. I have 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter. All of my dogs (and cats) are rescues. I have a puppy that we just adopted that I think could be at least part Dutch Shepherd. We also have a 2 year old pug/min pin mix and an 11 year old border collie and possible lab mix.

I think Thalie did it and she's trying to blame Sadie.

HAHAHA I just laughed so loud I woke the girls up

I could defiantly see Thalie quietly stuffing Sadie under the bed then walking quietly back to her dog bed and act like nothing happened.

 I, too, can absolutely see Thalie stuffing Sadie under the bed. I recall my friend, Kristel, who had 3 greyhounds used to have the funniest "sibling rivalry" experiences with them! Garth and Raven were 2 rescued off-the-track hounds, then later she got Keifer, nicknamed "Fee". He was a puppy, had never raced, his mom was off-the-track and the litter was born at the rescue.

Fee was a psycho. When Garth and Raven were fed up with him they'd chase him behind the couch and then both lay down at either end like bookends and not let him out until Kristel came to intervene.

There was also a period where Fee was wearing one of the citronella-spray bark-collars, (another nickname was "Shrieky-Fee") Raven used to sneak up beside him, bark once, sharp and loud, right next to his head, then immediately duck and run... So Keifer would get sprayed even though he hadn't done the barking. Evil Raven!

Therefore, I never underestimate what dogs can do to one another in sneaky clever ways! ;)

Thalie must have read this post !! Last night, I was woken by scratching UNDER my bed again. It was the middle of the night and I was sound asleep. Groggy, I looked up and there was an embarrassed doggy looking at me from the other side of the head board. The head board has scrolls so its not solid and its about a foot away from the wall because of the pitched roof. So Sadie managed to get out and go behind the bed and made her way back around and to her bed. Of course Thalie is laying there looking like "really?? Again?? sigh"

Oh man, I can just see that...and when you open your eyes to find out what the heck is going on, and look into Sadie's eyes, so close to your's, just beyond that head "board"...I can just imagine the look in her eyes...the same one Geyser gets when she knows she's pissed me off and she's going into her "please just understand I'm just a cute baby puppy" mode  ...all bright eyes and innocent...

It really is too freaking funny...

Just think how extra embarrassed she'd be if Sadie knew how much laughter she's been engendering around here? I say, "thank you miss sadie!"
