This really IS DS related lol. I can't get a pic to be small enough kb or mb whatever it is to use one as a avatar. Would love to put some of Marko's pics in but keep getting told no. Can anyone help. I'm obviously not computer savy. My pics are either on my iPhone or iPad.
Thanks in advance

I use photoshop to resize my photos. There may be some apps for the ipad to resize your photo, or try online at photoshop.com, or some other free photo editing apps.

I go to picasa web to upload, then resize my photos for the avatar. I know, its a pain in the ass because it has to be REALLY small. I can't upload photos from my mac or iphone either. Always say too big.

if you have a pc operating system, then there is a ''pictures'' section [ I am really an idiot when it comes to computers, so forgive my terminology; I only learned to do this a couple months ago so I could put pics on DSf !]. download your iPICS to your computer and get the photos into your msft ''pictures'' files, then select a photo, choose ''edit'' then there is a ''resize'' option. hitting I or info will tell you the size of your photo and keep referring to that. at least for me, it is not as simple as dialing in the size you want, but some quick hit-and-miss experimentation will get you there without much hassle.

If you have a PC with Microsoft Office installed then it is really easy with "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"
Use it to open your picture and choose "edit pictures..." this will open a menu on the right. Choose "resize" under Change picture size.
Play with the values - I normally use "percentage of orginal width x height" - you will see the number of pixels under the "size setting summary"
...
The limits for an avatar are:
Maximum Size: 40960 Bytes (40k)
minimum dimension: 20 x 20 pixels
maximum dimension: 100 x 100 pixels
...
If you don't have Office installed you can use Paint - but it takes more trial and error.
If you have drunk the koolaid and have a MAC - sorry, I don't use them and don't have a recommendation for you.
