This is off topic here but.. we have a pug that .. well.. does it all the time. Vet told us it is a dominate thing.. it clearly is not this. He goes up to any dog in the park and will literally mount that dog. If the dog snaps at him (most do) he walks away and starts it up with another dog. I thought it was a dominate thing as well but when we get home he goes at it with stuffed animals and pillows. I almost feel like he had a release and now is trapped in not being able to do it anymore. Koda is still intact and does his own thing but usually in his crate.

If you watch this video below and study it, you may or may not know I was getting upset. He started to hump my leg when I was giving commands to koda. Then when he was done with me he started going after koda which he ignored. I eventually was so frustrated with it I spanked him and told him NO!!!!... then I tied him to a barrel and he screamed and cried the entire time. Later that night Koda was all exhausted and he started back on him. Koda had enough and bit him then used his front paws and pinned him to the floor. The pug pooped all over and was very afraid to do it again. What do you all think?

Yikes.... I have no idea! I'd call a trainer especially before he gets hurt really bad by another dog!

Typically speaking, humping is not a dominance thing. Usually it's not even a sexual thing. Unless there is a female in heat present, it has nothing to do with breeding. Humping is no different than any other default behavior that a dog engages in when stimulated. Changing that involves increasing formal mental and physical stimulation as well as teaching and enforcing mutually exclusive behaviors. He can't hump if he is in a down stay.

Great distraction training for Koda:D He didn't blink an eye when the pug started after him.
