Dutch Shepherd Forum

Hello all, I'm new to the forums and would like to get your opinion on my new pup. I rescued her from the Las Vegas desert in Nevada and brought her home to Chandler Arizona. When we first got her, she looked more Dutch Shepherd to me. However, recently i have been doubting myself and have come to think she is German Shepherd possibly a mix of some sort. What do you guys think?

the white patch is fine. some people object in varying degrees; at some point, when ''too'' large, apparently [ completely out of my realm of knowledge except for what I read here ], it is considered a flaw for show purposes. but that is not a matter of full-bred or not full-bred. my 2 favorite and most awesome DS so far have both had lots of white there. for me, the more the better, character-wise. and in a discussion of this not long ago, Christie Meyer called it a badge of courage particularly prominent in euro lines. in any case, the correlation of courage and confidence with a white bib holds in spades in my limited experience with 6 DS. so be proud of your white-patched DS; it by itself does not speak to whether she is a mix or full-bred - and so far, nothing else seems to point to mix.

YAY! I shared this with Tyson just now and he wagged his tail. Then he handed me his slobbery deer antler to hold for him while he chews it. LOL

I'm thinking, wait until she grows into them paws. Until then, Roo says that white looks very distinguishing.
