Hello,
Our beloved Blaze passed away from cancer back in February and we'd decided NOT to try to replace him until much later. I believe the phrase was "until we're both ready." About a month went by and we discovered that even our 4 year old Son didn't provide the same "noise" we were both so attuned too. The house was TOO quiet, no matter how loud it seemed to be. So we began looking and came across this guy in the Savannah Craig's list: My wife contacted the poster on Sunday and we didn't hear anything. So I contacted again Monday night with a "Hey, we're interested, please let us know of availability either way." and still nothing. The next morning at 7am, I got a random txt saying "Dog still available." and told my wife. When I clarified which pup I was referring too, she almost burt into tears (of joy) and I took that as a yes to go forth with trying to get him. After a few days of working schedules out, I made the trip to Savannah to pick him up. He's since been exactly what we needed, quite a bit more puppy than we'd expected (It's only been 13 years since either of us have been through the puppy stages), but equal parts love and joy!

The only issue we had was telling people what he was. The Vet guessed pit/boxer mix early on. As he grew, we assumed sheperd, boxer, lab (webbed feet). Then I noticed this picture on a photo blog site:

I asked in the comments, and someone responded Dutch Sheperd. I feel pretty confident that Guinness is exactly that, but is there a sure fire way to confirm? Below is a photo of his face from daycare and one of his most recent. We LOVE his brindle color....we don't like trying to take pictures of him! His Camo is so much better than ours!

Welcome to the forum! I absolutely love Charleston. My husband and I honeymooned in Charleston and on Edisto Island.

Aside from the brindle and ears, I don't see much Dutch Shepherd in your guy. Perhaps you could post some more standing and profile pictures? Either way, he's adorable and hopefully you'll stay around.

Here's the original photo I saw which lead me in this direction: He was just weighed at the Vet today at 49.2 lbs. We'll try to get a shot of him when he's "on alert." When something has his attention is when we see the "Shepherd" look come out. Thank you for your response!
