Voice over Visual

When I'm excited I tend to respond quicker to hand signals over voice commands. Anybody know why?

Maybe the sound to brain response isnt as quick as the eye to brain response?

Perhaps it's because dogs don't use speech first, but are more body language oriented.
It's an interesting question and I am glad to know of a new alternative to the espresso syndrome!
