Dutch Shepherd Forum

On November 10th of this year I adopted "Teddy" (Who is now "Atticus"!) from a local rescue. He was apparently a stray down in Memphis TN.
I spotted him on PetFinder and thought he was one of the most gorgeous dogs I'd ever seen. Reading further I was continuing to be more and more impressed. He was listed as being friendly with everyone and a "Southern Gentlemen". Well, it didn't take long after that and now he's living with us and we couldn't be happier.

His foster said over the phone that he seemed to be Dutch Shepherd and part Chow dude to his neat part-pink-park-black tongue, which makes him even more adorable.
I hadn't heard of a Dutchie really before so I did some research and finally decided to join a forum!

I'm hoping to learn more and get advice and also meet other Dutchie parents, so I think I came to the right place!

Atticus is my second dog, but my first rescue, and I think that will be what I do from now on. (Although my favorite breed, the Borzoi, are tough to come by in shelters, haha.)

Anyway, he has just been such a joy to have. Such a silly pup! I will have to get more pictures of him. Still not sure if he's part DS or not, I assume he is, but regardless.

He is gorgeous I have a Chow mix and she is the sweetest pup. Also have a Dutchie girl and they get along so well. Both are rescues.
