We adopted Atty 4 weeks ago today and he's been great! His foster told us she thought he's a Dutch Shepherd and Chow-Chow mix.
It seems about right to me, looks wise, but what do I know? Haha. (Besides, there's more to a breed than looks.)
He seems mostly shepherd but his black and pink spotted tongue and big'ol head seems Chowish.

Anyway, here are a few pictures of him, if you guys wouldn't mind saying whatcha think.

He sure looks cool! Almost like a mini newfoundland. I think it's really hard to tell with all of that fur as most of the identifications come from head and body structure and coat. The chow really seems to cover whatever else might be mixed in. Did the shelter give any clues as to why they picked those breeds? Perhaps the mother was found with the dogs or siblings looked closer to a DS?

I know malinois can have the purple tongue, so that doesn't necessarily rule out DS since there is malinois blood in them, but I honestly couldn't say.

I'm going to have to say not even a DS mix.

I definitely see the chow...
And for the record...totally cute!!!

Aaaaaaagh--look at the size of those feet. How old did the shelter/vet/you think he is?

The shelter/rescue said he's probably somewhere between a year and a year and a half old. He's currently 52.6lbs also.
