It was 73*F today...ugh...so I decided to take advantage and bathe him and take pic of him all pretty.

From what I can see, his teeth look pretty good for a middle-aged+ man. (Are his lower canines worn flat with a "dot" in the center? My guy's are and so is another Dutch's on the forum.)

Yeah just about every tooth has has has the center exposed...he chews a lot. He was emaciated and neglected when I got him at 1 yr and he used to try to chew on anything, metal or rocks even. I don't think he does it anymore.

That's a handsome boy right there. Nice shine to his coat.

What does that mean? Thalies are.

Thanks everyone. Sometimes I just look at him and think, "wow he's so pretty" My FB friends are probably sick of my dog! LOL

Other than wear and exposing something once concealed-?- I've no idea. In the other post, someone said their vet said it was nothing to worry about.

I brush Thor's teeth a couple times a week and keep my eye on his gums for signs redness and/or inflammation due to a chipped, lower canine, and everything continues to looks pink and healthy. A couple years ago I, too, talked to the vet about the "dot" in his other canine and she also said not to worry.

Haven't researched it; don't know why.

I keep my talk of Thor to non-DS folks to a minimum only since I suspect that the general public is at least smart enough to understand (eventually) that the breed's intelligence exceeds theirs--and I don't like to embarrass people.

I agree with you there !! "oh yes, your dog is soooo smart". My fav is when I meet a GSD person, " oh yes, the police like DS much better than GSD, they are more agile and smarter". Dont make friends there.

I've started submitting to literary agents and read a number of agent blogs. Some agents will post examples or excerpts, mostly from query letters, that are nothing but an indictment of our education system. I don't think many people really want to be writers; they only want to get published and think all that's necessary to accomplish that end is stringing SUM words together.

We all make mistakes or have a glitch in our brains about this or that...I just seemed to have lost faith in the general public overall. And that's why I'm so damn glad for Dutch shepherds. They're smarter than I am and being in their presence elevates me simply because of the company I keep.

Yeah when people ask me what a Dutchie Shepherd is....I basically explain that oh it a way better version of the GSD and Malinois put together! Not only are they WAY smarter, their WAY fitter, healthier, stronger, faster, better looking, more interesting, creative, useful, versatile...etc. For some reason people think that is strange.
