Tell us about yourself: Hey all im a dutch addict :) lol we now have three in my family my dad has two that work up at a farm with him been stealing them for months and working with a protection sports group in my area LOVE LOVE LOVE this breed yes even in the temper tantrum melt down demonic running around like a cracked out two year old moments lol just got my own seven week puppy can't wait to see him grow.

Just had to share how sweet my puppy has been. Went to visit the parents which usually includes Bella running around like a mad dog wrestling with my dad's Dutch River. We'll about two hours later the headache I'd been nursing turned into a really bad case of the stomach flu. I became detained in the bathroom no need for detail lol Bella suddenly went from madman Dutch to moms sweet little nurse completely ignoring her best bud to wait and whine outside the bathroom door. We left as soon as I felt up for the drive home and getting into the car she was on her best behavior loading nice and quiet. Arriving home it was the same she settled down going into the house which NEVER happens. Then her being the smart Dutch that she is followed me into bed laying her head down gently on my upset stomach giving me tiny little kisses on my arm as if to say it ok mom I'm here ill take care of you. She didn't leave my side the whole night and even stayed quiet the next morning. Who knew that my crazy little tazmanian devil could have such a senstitive nursing side. Anyways just had to share thought it was sooo sweet. :)

Tell us about yourself: DS and Mal foster newly approved aug'12 by NADSR and ABMCR. high-functioning Autistic in nyc/hamptons in my 60's. Rescued the smartest dog i had ever seen off nyc street in 2000. Tracedog's intelligence exceeded by multiples my judgement that day. My first [and only as of 10/2012] dog turned out to be a DS, perhaps with a touch of something else, but attention to detail, behavioral traits, and physical habits, movement, and skill identical to DS. But MUCH more intellectual ability. supremely confident in all settings, fearless, very outgoing and social with people and friendly with dogs. Seldom apart in over 12 years, Trace Dog was the most important relationship of my adult life; he was my partner. they really do understand. she sounds like a sweetheart.
my craziest puppies have always been quiet and gentle from the start with pregnant women; and whenever i was not doing well [ and not realizing it or simply resistant to going to the doctor ] TraceDog would make a beeline from our front door to the doctors office. arriving at the office, i sometimes would have to say that i did not know why i was there, but TD thought i had to come. my doctor was in awe of TD, his respect for TD exceeding all except mine and my assistant's who also knew TD so well.

Tell us about yourself: I used top be terrified of dogs as a kid. But I met a German Shepherd named Sheba and have been into dogs since I was 12, now I'm 32 and have successfully handled many of all sizes, breeds and temperaments. I titled my first dog Sport, a mixed breed, in agility and then got into schutzhund. I got to work with working bred GSDs and loved them. After Sport died I was offered a young Dutch Shepherd named Allie (short for alligator!). I adopted her and fell in love with the breed. I rescued several Dutchies after that and then Allie was killed tragically by irresponsible veterinary staff. About 4 months later I rescued a pathetic emaciated 1 yr old Dutchie named "Phantom". With just some food, water and love he sprang from his listless phantom self and I named him Logan. Now he is my 8 yr old hardcore PITA!!!! :D

My big bruiser sprained my knee REALLY BAD and then walked carefully next to me allowing me to use him as a crutch when I had to hop 1/2 mile home from the park. So sweet.
