As Hendrix learns not all men mean him doom and gloom, I found an interesting quirk of his: he hates uniforms. Specifically any uniform with shiny things on it.

The local firemen have been awesome and let us visit every few days to help him get over his fear of men when we discovered this. Strangely enough hats and beards and sunglasses are no problem. A visiting official came around with a shiny badge and Hendrix was beside himself. So besides asking cops and other men with shiny uniforms (Lord help us if he ever encounters a showgirl) to take off their shirts

Not sure how well it might work but my first thought is to get a cheap fake badge (or other shiny clothing article) from the internet and show it to Hendrix on friends or people he knows and accepts. Hopefully the fact that he knows these people will offset the fear of the shiny. If he immediately accepts them, have them wear it for a bit around him. Let him get used to the idea that shiny doesn't necessarily mean bad.

If he is still a bit hesitant, let him feel them out a bit. If he approaches them, reward him. Would probably be best if you gave the reward, rather than the friend, so that Hendrix doesn't mistake anything for a threatening movement and also sees that YOU want him to accept the shiny.

If he accepts them, you can work toward introducing strangers with the shiny. If he doesn't, you can try bringing his attention away from the shiny and onto you. This won't help if something were to happen to you and LEOs or EMTs need to get to you while Hendrix is around.

Like I said, not sure how well it would work but maybe a starting point. Hope it helps and good luck with solving the issue.

Nope! Just mention the Cowboys and soon you'll be getting free drinks!! Texas bound flights have the nicest flight attendants and the biggest supply of alcohol. We're all lushes down here. Don't know what to say if the girls go in for kisses though...

I would second that idea !!!! The girls would be happy to give plenty of kisses ! I think the big noses would be a give away though. I need to be in Texas!!! I bet its warmer down there too. My girls are so bored with this cold.

We could probably make this work if we wanted. We have some awesome photographers on here, I'm a photographer, we have some beautiful DS...

Just put a face mask on them - harder to give kisses, hides the noses, and people won't look too closely. Then again they might eat the masks.

We had a nice weekend of 70 degrees. Winter isn't bad - average of 30-40 degrees, barely any snow, and fairly dry. Summers though... 110 degrees with 80-90% humidity. We should set up summer and winter houses so we all have the best of the weather!

I'm liking this idea. Hendrix loves snow. Thinks it's a huge ice cube and tissue paper rolled into one. No pool sadly. But we have neighbors who share! There's also lakes and Galveston isn't far by Texas standards - beach time!!!

We are there !!! Lately the girls arent to fond of going out, the snow gets stuck in their paws and they come limping in, its so sad to watch. Sadie will sit like a circus dog, up on her haunches with her front paws off the ground.

Aw poor Sadie. Hendrix has decided like as a biped is much better. So he now stands on my feet and stands up on two legs. Then I look down and wonder why I have a child - er, I mean puppy - standing on my feet. Think we could train them to dance together?

Sure, we would have a blast training them to dance. Thalie will sit and watch, she is to dignified for that LOL
