I've been looking all over the web, seems to be the same 60 names. Using i is proving quite difficult!

How about replacing another vowel with i, example Enzo-Inzo?

ok, i will give it a try - boy i-names that seem correct for a DS:

in Hindu:
Isha - one who protects [ the hindu equiv of Xander ] [ ! with soft i ]
Ira - watchful
Indra - god of thunder [ !!!] [NN - Ra]

in Hebrew:
Isaac - the laughing one
Ike - he will laugh

in Latin:
Ignatius - fiery [ !!! ] [ NN - Nate ]
Ignacio - lively one

Archer with various twists:
Ivar - an archer who happens to be a Norse god [!!!] [ NN - VAR ]
Ivor - an archer and Norse Lord [ also Welsh ]
Iver - archer - Scandian
Ives - archer - english

in various Nordic languages:
Igor - hero in Norse
Imre - great king in German
Ingo - a male leader - Scandia
Ingram - hero, raven -------- [ if DS was blackish, i would choose this one for density of the double meanings - as Raven is such a loaded name and idea! - and various possible nicknames NN - like Ram, Rami, Ing ]

so my top choices are marked by [!!!] and would depend on dog, call comfort, and flex of nicknames - some of which i have shown as [ NN ]: Ingram [ Gram, Ram, Ra], Ignatius [ Nate ], Ivar, Indra [ Ray or Ra ]

You might look into foreign languages pronunciations of I or I with other letters (Celtic IO=YO). Also words that describe your dog, using an I word for the first one can be made into an acronym name. Two I found are -
Impulse Excitation Technique and Integrated Energy Therapy. IET - (Ee yet). These are actual company names, but they both could describe a DS.

Ivar doesn't sound bad using Var...easy call and very different!

I see In French they like to use I' in front of words. Would that be pronounced like iPod, I'Pod or possibly silent? That can really open the door for names then

It's silent. In France, the first letter of the name corresponds to the year they were born, rather than something with the breeder, so people add it to identify. My friends Belgian malinois is named H'Moto but she just calls him Moto.
