Xander doesn't zonk very often. I mean truly zonk. This was worth taking pictures of. Lol

OMG! That's too fun! I just got H to start zonking occasionally and have like 2 photos of him truly asleep before he woke up and decided it was time to tackle mom...

Haha. It only lasted 5 minutes. As soon as he heard my dad get up at the other end of the house and walk to the kitchen he was up barking and ready to go. But for 5 minutes he was actually zoned and snoring. I have only heard him snore a few times. It's rare he is that out of it and relaxed. Oh well, it was great while it lasted. Lol.lol.

ok, OMG - i just realized you are all serious that you really experience little or no down time.

mine collapse in exhaustion several times a day and make all sorts of strange sounds sleeping; TraceDog was also like that.

they run and bark in their sleep - ESPECIALLY TD, but Tracer is very much a yelping deep sleeper. it is especially cute when they pass out piled on top of each other.

on the other hand, through long spells of rain like we have had recently, it is at home like a living hell populated by devil dogs. so i have begun in recent times to take them on long walks in the rain [ as they make mud if they stay in the yard or they create chaos inside if i try to avoid the mud-wrestling outside]. walks in the rain have been surprisingly effective AND pleasant except for the occasional gale-force winds.

I guess just a more active day than normal. And we went out for some late exercise. Usually his last exercise is around 730 pm. But we went out and played zoomies in the back yard around 9.

He does take naps during the day but they are one eye open naps, in case someone stands up he doesn't miss anything. The only time he may do a good zonk is at night. That's when he will zonk out belly up.

Haha Mobil snores in his sleep constantly. And they both twitch and yip while they sleep, especially Turbo.
Very cute.

Simba absolutely LOVES to go to bed! ! It is his favorite time of day. Around bedtime he gets restless and starts barking at us like "come on. .. What are you waiting for?" After his trip outside he makes a mad dash upstairs onto the bed. He instantly becomes a big snugglebug!! He ZONKS big time. With a big sigh he checks out.... Head on my chest, body pressed against mine. And the grunts, twitches, and sometimes whines or barks in his sleep start. The Dutch Shepherd becomes a big teddy bear! !

Mobil, when Xander does zonk he also makes all kinds of strange noises. My favorite is the one that causes his top lip to vibrate when he breathes because it is so relaxed it is flappy. It's just that Xander doesn't zonk very often. Only at night time, and only sometimes.

Simbathedog1, Xander is a big snuggle at bed time to. That's what he was doing in the pic before he zonked. He doesn't always zonk but he does always snuggle. Its amazing how they can go from psycho energy demons to big snugly teddy bears.

As soon as I typed that response I had to get up and let simba back in the bedroom. My husband had gotten up and put him outside. ... But be came in and started quietly whining outside the bedroom door. HE WANTED TO GO BACK TO BED and sleep in with me! !
