I found the Girl names thread (or two) when I searched, but no boy one. Is there one?

We're now deep in the gravitational field of the intelligence black hole that is calling him "Puppy" space since I vetoed Xander so, in turn, my pick of Elian (Eli for short) got the axe. Then, just for funsies, I was also outvoted when it came to Ignaas (Iggy), Piet, Ivo, Zef, Broos, Redding, Theo, and Olivier (Olly/Ollie). (Tell me about it...) And the flippant suggestion of Dutch the Dutch earned me the whale eye.

I'm having to work inside the constraints of it has to be Dutch, be pronounceable to the US palate, be something that can be called out over hill and dale without chagrin, and ideally, two syllables. Or at least the nick/diminutive for it is all that. Oh, and M names are out since the other dog's a M name. All that currently remains of my once-painstakingly researched list of names is a "I have to think about it." Roeland (if it's incorrectly pronounced as Roland).

I thought there was a thread that included masculine names. (?) It'd be older. Probably buried in an unrelated thread. Perhaps others will remember.

I liked Zef...and Broos. Broos, especially, has that dominant sound that when you're calling it out, there's a punch to it, which is what, IMO, helps a pup.

Nikolaas. Another favorite of mine is Soren. Soren(SOR-en) itself is Danish in origin but my favorite Dutch (person) is named Soren.

The only Dutch male name I know is Jos. Just because my captain at the fire department is named Jos and he is a freaky deaky Dutch.

OMG! I just read your link. Interestingly enough, since he's a big Vikings fan his first-first choice was Ragnar, but I vetoed that one for the same reason as Xander - no nickname. Well, that's not 100% true, I would just be mortified to use "Rags" as a nick for Ragnar (thanks to the anglicized pronunciation). And I actually only half-kidding countered with Floki at the time, but the girl is Moki, so imagine what *that* future would have been like when both off-leash...

You're fine. I liked Broos, too. Not to mention I could have told people met socially I named him after Campbell (since it would have likely come out closer to Bruce in everyday usage...). My other personal favorite besides Eli is/was Ivo (EE-vo) for the same hard E sound.

He'd never go for it, but I personally think it'd be great to be able to call a Dutchie "YoYo (Yo-yo)" for a nick...

Since I was told to include a name tag in the next Amazon order, I guess Roeland it is. Until it isn't anymore. XD We'll see what happens in the next week. If he doesn't stop calling him Quinn soon (due to the failed adoption we tried before finding the new pup), it may end up de facto being Quinten.
