Hello from Missouri!

Hello everyone, I'm looking for a Dutchie to join my family in the Missouri area. I currently have my Aussie who is my farm dog/herding dog. And a German my husband got me. I would love to add a dutchie as a working sport dog. I grew up going to shutzuhund with my mom and it's always interested me since I left home. I'm looking more towards PSA/French Ring though. I've been looking at Cher Car kennels, her Dutchies are beautiful and the pedigrees are exceptional. Does anyone have any experience with her? My only issue is the distance. I would rather drive to pick up my puppy but with this I think shipping would be cheaper and much easier.

You can do a search on this forum for that kennel. There should be a good number of threads that pop up. (There's word that they've changed the direction of their breeding program, but that's something you'd need to discuss with them.)
Welcome.

I'm from the st. Louis area and drove to Michigan in November 2014 to pick up Lexi, litter by Lothar and Luna. If I ever got another ds, I'd consider ds rescue first ... but for an 8 week old pup, I'd recommend them based on my experience.

Cher Car is one of the reputable breeders that is frequently referred on this forum. If you search you can find various opinions and experiences with them. I would see if you can find any owners on Facebook through the DS groups and ask them what they think of their dogs and work ethic. Last I heard, if you want to go in FR then you will need a non-KNPV DS, especially if you plan on the higher levels. Les Flores, Vandalia, and Cher Car and I believe Vrijheid all have registered lines. Out of these three, I know Vrijheid and Les Flores have very active sport dogs from their litters. There are a few others, I know Von Der King in MI has a UKC litter with females left over, roughly 3-4 months and are showing great aptitude for sport work.
Also make sure to look into the pedigrees and what the dogs were like. Each dog brings something different to the table and it's not all about awards and certificates, but also what you can live with.
