Wondering if anyone knew of a reputable trainer with DS experience in the Maryland area? I was referred to a trainer by a friend, but this trainer has zero experience with Dutches which makes me hesitant. Are beginner group classes ok for basic obedience training or should I continue to look for a shepherd specific trainer? As background I am looking to start with basic puppy obedience and gradually move into protection and nose work as the pup progresses. Any help is appreciated, thanks

If all you can do for now are Ob and basic training, do it. Its better than nothing. maybe upon talking to people you will find someone. Check out Michael Ellis in the mean time.He has some great videos.

do a google search for nose work too.

Thanks for you response!

I do not have my pup yet, but wanted to be proactive and try to find a trusted trainer beforehand. I will continue to look and watch the videos you suggested. Thanks very much
