Just an intro

Morning,
The name is Aaron, I live in the Kansas City area. I don't own any dogs currently, but have grown up with two golden retrievers, husky, and a boston terrier. I've had a huge interest in owning a Dutch Shepherd, started about 5 years ago. I'm always up for gaining more info on the breed, hoping to own one within the next year.

Welcome, Aaron! If you've been looking at them for 5 years you're probably already aware, but a DS is a completely different ball game from almost any other breed. There's lots of great information in the archives here covering the big life-changing commitment of owning a DS, discussions about breeders, NADSR options, etc. The comment in your profile about your wife reminds me that it WILL be a big commitment for her as well as any other members of your household. Make sure they're ready. I don't mean to sound doubtful or discouraging, but it's best for everyone if you go in with your eyes wide open. I applaud you for doing your homework before jumping in. If you tell us a bit about your intentions with the dog (competition, training, work), many here will be happy to give you support and the benefit of their personal experiences.
