None of my dogs have ever hung their head out the window. The only reason I can think of is that up until recently, I always spent a LOT if time driving on narrow wooded roads, where there were always twigs scraping the truck. En might hang her head out, but I don't give her the chance. Pretty sure she'll bolt.

Makes sense! Just read your profile too, you're a real outdoorsmen. Wooded back roads, hunting, and Wolf hybrids. Sounds like The Life!

...hunting however, us city slickers just can't get past the sport of killing game although we love all meats. Maybe we think it comes from thin air

And I've never really felt good about people calling hunting a sport. It's not. You have to put in the time. It takes dedication.

In this case I used it for lack of a better term, in the Midwest hunting doesn't really come up much. Pardon any ignorance to it. In fact I've only fired handguns twice, never a rifle.

Love the pictures above! Hilde has always enjoyed her head out the window, even when it's really cold (much to Elizabeth's chagrin!). I'm very cautious about conditions and speed, though, because eye injuries are a real risk.

This thread reminded me that I have a few pictures from our road trip to South Dakota back in March:

Of course we went to Mt. Rushmore in the Black Hills:

And the Badlands:

Can you guess what's got her attention here?

Love all the critters that Hilde sees! Yes eye injuries are possible, I try to be as cautious as I can. Similar to the cold, Duke sticks his head out in the rain, what do I care if he's wet :) when he shakes it off in the car however lol
