Hi,

So I'm just learning about Dutch Shepherds. Awesome breed. We adopted the best looking dog at the shelter last November. I had a purebred German Shepherd as a kid many moons ago. What a sweetheart this DS is. Super gentle with everything and everyone so far. Although I think there was something in her past ... she gravitated heavily towards my daughter, wife, and any ladies at the dogpark for the first few months.

I'm attaching a couple of pics. Partially because I think she looks stunning but also because I'm confused with the results that came back from Wisdom Health from a blood sample collected at our Banfield (screenshot also attached). Did they screen the wrong dog?

I think the DNA results are probably accurate. I really didn't see much DS except maybe in the last picture before the results

I don't know if you guys are just teasing around. I once had a Pit Bull too ... similar to Staffies. Just bundles of muscles. I don't see much Staffie in this dog.

They haven't profiled what a DS is with the DNA testing in the US which is why even those here with papered dogs might not get the results they thought they were going to get if testing them stateside. However over seas in Europe they link them genetically to other DS dogs correctly. Basically there is not currently a DNA database for Dutch Shepherds in the US but there is over in Europe.

Riddick's puppies DNA profile.

I wouldn’t say that she’s a DS. I could be guessing wrong. She is beautiful no matter what her DNA is.
