So we have a 3 month old DS and he stalks his ball when we throw it. He literally looks like a cat or a lion. He sneaks up on it slowly and then pounces on it. It is so cute! Is this normal behavior for dutchies? I'm wondering if this is a sign that he may have a high prey drive.

I've never had one as a puppy, but this sounds like a good assumption.

However, I think we need to see some puppy pictures to be sure.

It is a sign of prey behavior and it is seen with the herding dogs. Roll the ball quickly past your pup in a short distance so your pup can grab the ball while it is still moving

Bramble loves to play catch and she likes to sneak up on a ball to throw it up in the air. Sometimes she even does this flip over the ball that is so cute.

We throw it fast, as well and he chases it normally.

As the pup gets older his drive for the ball will intensify so you will want him to play the game your way.
