Hi Everyone,
My name is Nick and I live in Los Angeles, CA. My girlfriend and I just rescued a dog from the city shelter and we think he's at least part Dutch Shepherd. After finding this website I figured I'd post a couple pics of him to see what you all think and also to learn more about the breed. He's a great dog regardless of breed but we're definitely curious and it seems not too many people know much about Dutch Shepherds.

That would be a Dutch Shepherd for sure. Handsome dog. So welcome Ziggy from myself and my DS, Zip. (like thos Z names) Wonder what Ziggy's story is. Doesnt really matter, he has a great home now, making his own new story with a happy ending. Thank you for rescuing him.

That's great news He certainly seems to display many of the personality traits I've read about...
He also likes to sing along when we practice (trombone and french horn) and seems able to match pitch!
Don't know too much about his story beyond finding him in the LA animal services shelter system. He had been in 3 different shelters over almost two months when we came across him, which was really surprising cause he's so sweet, gentle and well-behaved. Regardless, he's adjusting well to his new life outside of being a picky eater.
Anyway, we're looking forward to training him more and having him in our lives
