Hello everyone I'm just posting a few photos of our newly adopted puppy named Sherlock. We adopted him from a shelter about two months ago and now he's about 4 months old. My question is do you have any idea if he's DS mix or what kind of breed he is and is he a DS at all? Thank you!

He’s a mix I’d say with the white ticked chest. Does look to have some Dutch blood though. This is just an opinion. Please post an updated picture at say 6 months. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, yes he is just gorgeous and super smart.

The face is long for an akita, but the fuzziness of the hair might point to that.

Yeah, there might be some Akita somewhere, I'm really not sure at this point - we'll see what happens when he's a bit more grown.

Hello, just wanted to share some updated pictures of Sherlock.
He is growing pretty fast, exercising a lot every day, he's a lot bigger now around 35 lbs, training every day (we also started with a trainer just now) and everything is great. He has an amazing toy drive, very obidient and smart abd he's doing everything I teach him so quick!

The fur looks Akita to me.

Looks like a Dutchie to me. The fur likely will end up being longer than a regular short hair. Probably dumped for the giant patch on his chest. Take pics when he's older.

Thank you for your answer I appreciate it. We are thinking the same about the white chest spot that it was the main reason why he was dumped on the street. He was left there with his brother and they were rescued and later on we got him. I will post some new photos because the previous ones are quite old now and he's almost 10 months now.... keeps growing.

Fwiw, I'd still put money on Akita. Nice looking dog, regardless and it sounds like he's doing great. Good work!

Thank you so much, yes he is doing amazing stuff, just amazing with training and we are so lucky to have him and he is lucky as well to be with us - so everything is going great!!
