Board issues

All,

There have been some issues brought up and I have contacted Bob...Bob is a whizz-bang guy who really knows the ins and outs of PHPBB (the software that runs this forum).

He was not able to help me with the board being down for the last two days. That was a problem with the hosting company.

I asked him about two issues in particular that have come up recently:
- not able to see the very large photo of Benta
- some users cannot use the "back" button on their webbrowser to see the previous page

He and I are currently working on the large photo image. We don't have a resolution yet but I'll let you know.

In regards to the few people that have trouble when hitting the "back" button on their web browser. This affects some people and some PHPBB forums... from what he tells me this is a problem with the persons computer/web browser and has nothing to do with PHPBB itself. If a fix comes up for this I'll let you know.

Thanks,
eric

Yay. The board is back up again. It was about time too. :o

As far as the back button issue (after posting in a subject) being a problem that is related to the users computer:
tell Bob he may not know as much as he thinks he does. :P I am on other Phpbb boards where I do NOT have that issue. But that must be a computer glitch too? :bum:

Honestly, I think it has to do with the individual computer and the version that you are using. There are MANY versions of this software and they update about quarterly.

The picture displaying is a combination...the poster putting up a photo larger than most people have for a screensize on their computer and the forum still being at all the default settings for viewing. When the hosting company can get the rest of their issues fixed hopefully I can get in and make some tweaks that Bob is recommending.

In regards to the "back" issue...we may just have to agree to disagree... :tired:
