My name is Sarah, and I have a 4.5 year old DS named Susie. I also have a husband, and two kids, 4 and 7, a rat, and a cat. I adopted Susie four years ago when we lived in Las Vegas from a family who fell on hard times and their house foreclosed. They had a few Dutch's and Malinois.
We live in a highrise condo now in Chicago (my home town). Susie goes everywhere with me; the market, bakery, ice cream parlor, pizza place, you name it. She walks the kids to and from school with me everyday. She does great in the city and is my faithful jogging companion. She is also my official "nanny", a nickname i gave her early on. She is excellent with children, and her genuine love for ours is nothing short of amazing.
I did not know anything about Dutch Shepherds before I got Susie. I research pretty regularly now, and am looking forward to learning more from this site.
Susie is the most amazing dog I have ever met. I take it from reading some posts on here that many DS owners feel the same way about theirs.

I have nicknamed Susie my "nanny", because since day one she has had a love and affinity for my children only rivaled by my husband and I.
Susie is quite the caretaker. I fostered dogs, mostly pit bulls, in Las Vegas, and Susie was always a patient and firm teacher. She loves our pet rat, is an excellent watch dog, and is amazing with ALL children. She is also a mind reader, accomplished gymnast, and nighttime ninja. - Location: Chicago IL

- Tell us about yourself: Rescued our first DS male on Dec 27, 2011. Approx 4 yrs. Rescued from NADSR. His name is Odin. Adopted a 2nd DS from NADSR June 27, 2012. Kai - 6 months.

- Tell us about yourself: I am in New York State. Got my first DS about 14 years ago (more or less as a rescue- lost her in Nov.). After years of GSD's, and a few dogs of other breeds (Rotti/Beauceron/Ger. Shorthaired Pointer/ Yorkie and my current Jack Russell) I now have another DS, 4mo female, no name yet, tho I have a few in mind.
Also have a horse-old quarter horse mare-32.
Can't wait for all the snow to get gone! Spring is coming too slow this year! - Location: Corinth, New York
