Solved ! Case of the missing pumpkin...........

Post by Dutchringgirl »

I have 5...........no , wait............4, 4 little pumpkins on my stairs.........I did have 5. 5 cute little pumpkins for my kids on the stairs. One day, I hear, thud........roll............Thalie is next to me.........SAAADIEEEEEEEEEEE. One stair has no pumpkin. Cant find it anywhere. The stair is empty, no pumpkin. Poor stair. The other stairs have cute little pumpkins...

Sadie is cramming herself behind the couch.......SAAADIEEEEEEE, out she brings a little pumpkin, stem chewed. I put the cute little pumpkin back on the stair......... 5 cute.....well 4 cute, one chewed little pumpkin on the stair. Happy stairs.

So who will babysit the mauled pumpkin and keep the others safe?

My last Dutch loved to play with pumpkins (I bought them for her) like a big ball. I was amazed how she could cart those things around, being heavy and rather big.

Thor...goes right for the gusto. Rip and tear. Big mess = great fun. (When the job is done, he eats some.)
Though I can only hope to become the person who my animals believe I am, the things that they have taught me have made me a better human being. ~~~Sharon~~~

Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.

Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!

I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences.

Ok.........picture this......Im on the computer working, sadie is at the stairs, I can see her out of the corner of my eye....I know what she is doing... I reach for my phone to get the camera...im fumbling as not to alert her (yeah, right)... she walks by with a pumpkin in her mouth, oh so quietly, giving me a look like I cant see her. I turn slowly to take a picture ( yeah, I hear all of you, what you dont punish you encorage) Sadie turns and sees me watching her, she drops the pumpkin, it rolls, hits the door BANG, Sadie jumps 3 feet in the air and starts barking.

I freaking LOVE your stories!!!! I can see it all.

And I vote YES for the photo op, in lue of correcting the behavior.

The poor girl is just saying that she would REALLY like a pumpkin to play with!!

Stop being such a big meany, you big meany. Give her her own darn pumpkin. You're not listening, Mother. Apparently, your ears are not as big as hers. Well, another case of genetics for ya....

Did I ever tell you guys of the rat plague we had, that stole our walnuts and ate them on the porch?
I was about to go to our neighbour and tell him he had to put away his chicken food better, because we had rats again...even after the pest-control of the town had given him rat poison... when I cought the darn rat!

It was pretty big, brindled, and listened to the name "Dingo" :dsangry:

HA HA, he ate them up on the porch, eh? Too funny. Sugar likes to get the nuts that drop from the neighbours tree (hazelnuts maybe?) into our yard and break the shell and eat them too.
