My new foster puppy

Meet Bugsy my new foster pup :DSlove: Picked him up today and he's such a sweetheart! Hank's not too sure about him yet, but he's being a good boy with him. Let's all hope he finds a new permanant home soon!

Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.

Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!

I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences.

Tell us about yourself: I've had Belgian Malinois for years at my folks. I just got married, and a friend of mine who does search and rescue, had been keeping an eye out for Mali puppies for me. He came across a 9 month old Dutch Shepherd female pup who needed a home. She doesn't have the nerves to do the search and rescue she was intended for, but is perfect pet material. She's enough of a challenge to be alot of fun :)

hehehehe, yes he does have floppy ears, all the pups in the litter do too. He's a DS/GSD mix that I'm fostering through NADR.

Tell us about yourself: DS and Mal foster newly approved aug'12 by NADSR and ABMCR. high-functioning Autistic in nyc/hamptons in my 60's. Rescued the smartest dog i had ever seen off nyc street in 2000. Tracedog's intelligence exceeded by multiples my judgement that day. My first [and only as of 10/2012] dog turned out to be a DS, perhaps with a touch of something else, but attention to detail, behavioral traits, and physical habits, movement, and skill identical to DS. But MUCH more intellectual ability. supremely confident in all settings, fearless, very outgoing and social with people and friendly with dogs. Seldom apart in over 12 years, Trace Dog was the most important relationship of my adult life; he was my partner. If I didn't have 3 dogs, I would so foster for NADSR. Tyson needs a playmate with like energy!

Tell us about yourself: Howdy,
We are a family of rescues, (yeah, me included), in Southern California. My wife and I currently have two dogs, a Golden Retriever/ GSD mix by the name of Morgan, and our DS mix(?), Dinga Roo. We had never even heard of a Dutch Shepherd before until we were stalked by this nice lady in the pet store who asked us if Roo was a DS. Dang if that lady wasn't on to something. I just found this site, so here we are....

That lil dude is so cute. Sue is right. Next time face him into the wind when taking pics.
This is why I couldn't be a good foster. I would just get attached and keep 'em all.

the ears are the best. he could probably become a star and make a good living on a sitcom, tv ads, youtube, or something like that. i would never be able to part with him.

Its not going to be easy to say goodbye to him, he's so sweet and cute. But I know that it's not best for Hank to have another male dog around long term right now. I just found out Bugsy's adoption is pending so he will be on his way to his forever home and family in a few weeks. I'll just love him up as much as I can before he goes!

Tell us about yourself: I'm a 23 year old military member who just got my first Dutch shepherd. I've grown up my whole life with various breeds and trained Rhodesian ridgebacks for several years prior to joining the service.

My boy Harvey has the same deal with his ears... My wife loves the floppy eared look (she grew up with boxers and i'm a shepherd fan so we both sort of get what we want...lol)
