Our two oldest dogs are Hailie a 6 year old black and sable German Shepherd Dog then Casper a nearly 6 year old white German Shepherd Dog Belgian Malinois mix. Then come Tundra and her sister Drizzit two wolf husky ACD maybe beagle we dont know whats they are 5 years old. Then comes Tundra's son Cheveyo a nearly 4 year old husky wolf whatever else his mama is and boxer/ pit bull mix who was born dead. Then come Hailie's two pups three year olds Tank and Bella black lab/ German Shepherd mixes who are both Service Dogs. Then we have 2 1/2 year old siblings Garnet and Blaize Boston Terrier Min Pin mixes then there is 1 year old Demon Shadow our Pit Bull and finally Isis our 8-12 week old Dutch Shepherd puppy who was dumped on us. We were told that she was a pit bull but we knew better right off.

Is she a Dutch Shepherd or a mix?

This is our pup Isis, the picture was taken about two weeks after she was dumped on us. We havent gotten her fixed yet because we always wait till our females are over a year to spay them and she is only about 8-12 weeks old right now. She is a mix of gold and silver brindle with a beautiful white chest and four white paws and a black mask. She was smaller than our two Boston Terrier Min Pin mixes when that pic was taken but now she is almost as tall as the two of them. She is really smart and learns very fast. Also want to add that her ears stand up more now than they did when this pic was taken.

What age is she in the photo? It would be great to see what she's like now, possibly a front view and side profile to get an idea of her dimensions.

Really beautiful puppy she's so lucky to have you whatever she is :)

I don't see any Dutch Shepherd in her in that pic.

Can we see pics from several different angles? Side view, standing, multiple angles? It's really hard to tell in young puppies, but that photo makes it even harder to tell. She looks really small for a DS of 8-12 weeks.

she is almost certainly a mix just judging by the amount of white fur on her front legs and chest. The face shape doesn't scream shepherd to me, either.

Super cute puppy, though! :)

She wasn't very old then maybe four weeks old I have no clue how old she is to be honest. She was dumped on me a month ago just before I adopted my White German Shepherd mix Casper from the shelter. I will try to get some more photos of Isis today because she was more interested in trying to herd the cats the day that the original photo was taken. Thank you for the complements on her, I love her coloring and her stripes. She is growing pretty fast and is almost as tall as my male Boston Terrier Min Pin mix who is around a foot to a foot and a half tall.

its really hard to tell since we dont know exactly how many weeks she is and because puppies change so dramatically as they grow up.
id say shes definitely a mix, if theres dutch shepherd in the mix who knows? she looks about the size of a small terrier at the moment so maybe shell be far too small to have any dutch, or maybe shes extremely young and could top 50lbs? they change VERY quickly around that age.
heres demon for an example

eeeee just looking at these i should have spent more time appreciating him as a baby. unfortunately it was marred by the fact i had dreadlocks when i first got him and that made me a BIG target for bites (waking up to a game of tug-o-war with your hair is even more painful than it sounds!) the hair had to go

I really wish that I could have met her parents. She carries her tail like most of my ex sister in laws GSD pups do. IF and I am saying IF here, Isis is a Dutch Shepherd could she have been the runt of the litter or as old dog men called them "bucket pups"? She is really funny though, and goes to the vet in two weeks to get her shots and a well puppy check up. I have a wonderful vet who has treated my dogs wonderfully and because of such a large pack they cut me a bit of a discount. We tease them and tell them that we have paid for a large chunk of their remodeling in the office. I was looking at Isis's teeth yesterday while we were playing with her bone toy (she has a puppy nylabone and a pink puppy kong) and some of her baby teeth haven't come in yet. My three cats aren't bothered too much by her puppy antics but the younger male cat Kovu doesn't like being herded and will swat at her.

If her puppy teeth aren't all in yet, that would make her probably less than 8 weeks old; usually all the baby teeth have erupted by 8 weeks. I made a side-by-side comparison of your cutie with a 6-week Dutch Shepherd puppy. To me it looks like she's got a terrier face. And if she was younger than six weeks in that photo, I would be even less inclined to think DSD because at 4/5 weeks, DSDs are really little fat sausages.

She has webbed feet and has quite a bit of speed when running and can tear up quite a bit of dirt when she turns. She learns new things really quickly including how to use the ramp that we bought for our 6 year old female German Shepherd Dog who cannnot or will not jump up into the back of our SUV. Isis ran right up it and back down it like it was something she had been doing all her life. She is doing really well with her training in basic obedience the only thing she really has to learn is to lie down and to stay. Other than that she is doing really well. I gave her her puppy shots (I got them from the vet) tonight and she is still bouncing around like a wild child trying to meet the new kitten. Then she tried to look up as we say "puppy porn" she tried to open up a bunch of web pages with her paws on my laptop as she tried to get over to see Casper our rescued white shepherd. Little goof ball that she is I love her and she is super cute and so funny. When she isnt trying to be a hoover sweeper she is either trying to get the cats to play or playing with Casper she is curled up beside me on the couch. We feed her one of two diets depending on the day. She either gets a little raw food or she gets Taste Of The Wild puppy. Recently she discovered the "puppy in the mirror" and had to bark at it... LOL what a goof ball.

How big is she now? Honestly, if her tail curled more and possibly had a bit more furrows on the face, I'd say you had a Basenji mix possibly? But they're rare, so highly unlikely. Iunno.

Her tail doesn't curl, she is bigger than my husband's best friends two dogs a Boston Terrier and a Min Pin. Her body build is lean because she is fed a mix of raw and grain free puppy food. We aren't sure of her age but I can tell you that she has almost outgrown the small wire crate that we have been using for her to sleep in. She is growing so fast that we have to loosen her collar every two weeks and buy her a new one about every four to six weeks. We do not allow her to jump out of our SUV because its not good on her joints. We bought a ramp for our six year old female German Shepherd so that she can get in and out of the SUV and Isis can and will run up and down it like a little champ. I will try to get a pic of Isis with one of our bigger dogs so that you can see how big she is now. Its hard to get a pic of her because she doesnt like or want to stay still for long. She is so spoiled and so very loved. I have seen Basinji's before and I do not see any in her at all.

She was about 8-12 weeks old in March when you first made the post, right? So right about now she would be at least 5 months old in June (Say June 12th since that's when you started the thread) She should definitely be larger than a Basenji (using this as an example since you said you've seen them before) or a Beagle if they're more familiar to you. Weight wise she'd probably be somewhere around 30lbs maybe? What was she when you weighed her last? I imagine that going through her puppy series, the vet would keep you updated on her weight as she comes in and whatnot. If she doesn't get any bigger than a Beagle or Feist, you probably have a terrier mix or like Lyons said; a Feist of some flavor.

We thought she was about 8 weeks when I first posted. But she was a lot younger. I purchased the shots from the vet and gave them my self at home. I was raised with beagles and Isis is definitely bigger than the beagles I grew up with. They were the standard 15 inch beagles a pair of identical twins born in the same whelping sack. The Basinjis that I have seen seemed small in comparison to how big Isis is now. She has an insane amount of energy and loves LOVES to run and play. She is super smart and is picking up both verbal and hand signal commands really fast. She also has picked up how to use the ramp that we bought for my 17 1/2 year old GSD to use to get in and out of our SUV in little to no time. She has pretty much become crate trained in the last month and a half really well. Only thing she doesnt really like is getting caught by the hose when we are spraying out the run she shares with our two little Boston Terrier Min Pin mixes. She doesnt mind baths and only nibbles on the kitties to get them to play with her.
