[Video] Nami vs DaBird cat toy

Post by Owly »

So, a while back I mentioned how Nami showed a particular interest in my cat's DaBird toy. Well, since then she has taken to balls and other doggy related toys, but she stiiiiill loves this thing. If I need to work her off a bit, and going outside is out of the question (it was raining off and on a lot today), I just drag this thing out or play tug.

I love how you're getting her to open up. It's heartwarming.

Just have to say...beware of waking a sleeping giant.

I can't remember her background/breeding/lack of, etc., and my crystal ball is out for repair, so take it with a grain of salt.

Just saying that sometimes things have to be tempered. To keep your eye out for signs of the message she's getting along the line. The flirt pole, like other tools, can be a great asset when used in mind of the dog and how it translates down the line.

I'm sure all will be well. :D Just sayin'....

Not taking away from the progress you're making...which is awesome. :) She's a lucky girl.

Her history is a big unknown. She was a shelter dog from NC, so I don't know much about her other than maybes. I don't even know if she's dutch, mal, or a mixture of both. Her reduced brindling makes me think that she is a DSxMal. Only because I'm aware of a small time breeder in NC that doesn't believe that there is a difference between Dutch and Mal, so he actively crosses the two. With the discovery of her interest in the cat toy, she has opened up at a fast pace. She -is- becoming more pushy and more demanding with her toys, and with that I've ramp'd up the obedience training and exercising we do. Now that she is settling in, she has started testing the waters to see just what she can get away with. There are times where I do feel like I'm waking a sleeping dragon. If I weren't prepared for it, I'd probably be concerned.

:wtg:

Again, she's a lucky girl to have an owner aware.
