Even though Xander is my second I still have a lot to learn. That is why I'm here, to learn, get advice, and meet people who love these guys as much as I do.

Pure Spoiled Rotten
Xander has gotten so spoiled. But I don't mind. He is so obedient and listens so well that I don't mind if he is a little rotten.

I don't envy you dealing with that fur.

Hey--whatever happened with X's training to help your mom? And how is she????
Though I can only hope to become the person who my animals believe I am, the things that they have taught me have made me a better human being. ~~~Sharon~~~

The fur isn't to bad except I injured my hand and it's hard to keep it brushed one handed. I've done a little trimming around his butt to keep the knots out. But it's so soft and cuddley so I don't mind the extra work.
Mom is doing great and Xander has his day time ball buddy back. He learned all his toys very well and would bring me what I asked for but he never would pick up odd objects. But that's ok. He is doing amazing with his obedience. The light bulb has really come on the last few months. He has turned into an excellent dog.

I don't know if it would work on X's fur....
I couldn't get the undercoat out easily from Thor and his topcoat furs flew loose all over...I was using this and that but didn't really want to break down and buy a Furminator. I used my Dollar General pointy, wide-toothed hand comb (the kind with a handle, and its teeth aren't completely blunt yet not too pointed) on him and it works like I paid a million bucks for it. It teases and loosens up under- and topcoat and "grabs" it all up, too.

I have a furminator. It works well but I have to use two hands. One to hold the fur and the other one to brush. It helps keep it from pulling. Otherwise he gets cranky. So it's just been difficult right now with one hand.
