Well, we went out for a movie and lunch this morning. Stopped off at a fish store on the way home. We were gone for about 4 hours all together. Considering that this was her first time uncrated for more than fifteen minutes, I totally expected Endeavor to have torn up something. I was mentally prepared to sweep and mop the whole house. To my amazement, there was nothing out of place when I got home! Not even the trash! !
Tell us about yourself: My name is Karen and I have a dutch shepherd, Xander, born 6/14/13. He is my second dutch shepherd. My first was Rawly. Even though Xander is my second I still have a lot to learn. That is why I'm here, to learn, get advice, and meet people who love these guys as much as I do.
Tell us about yourself: Over the past 25 years I shared my life with a Rott, two Akitas, and a Shepherd/Husky mix. I now have my first Dutch Shepherd. Lexi was born in early September 2014. She is great in so many different ways but I could use advice from some been there done that DS owners.
Nice! I haven't trusted Lexi in the house by herself but she graduated to uncrated in the bedroom when we sleep. Needed the pup to graduate into the bigger crate Lexi was using ... reason I'm hesitant is Lexi will get into trash, my shoes, etc. even when we are home. She will get there ... just not yet. I'm slow to trust because I did have a dog that I left home alone a couple hours. There was a storm, she freaked, and wrecked two rooms. Too much money and time to correct the mess.

She's really very relaxed. I've seen a couple other dogs from her lines while they're working, but I've never lived with one. She's very typical in terms of alertness. She's perfectly happy to sit on the back of the couch and watch everything going on though.

great! Mine are fine too out but I cant because Thalie gets horrible separation anxiety and trashed some windows a while back. Before I moved to my current house. Thalie would just sleep on the couch while i was out. A few times. Sadie had escaped from her crate but just went back in it.
