Sasha finally got her service vest last week, so we've been trying lots of new outings......she went to the hair salon with us and went to school with Sally one day; Sally called me mid-day and said Sasha was "wiggly" so could I pick her up......I think some of the other students in the class were bugging her a little bit, she was fine when we got home. Took her out to dinner with us tonight and that went very well; she got a little bored, but she's learning.
We had a huge graduation party for our son this weekend and she was awesome! Sally brought her out some and kept her in her crate some, and she was very sociable with everyone, not at all put off by the crowd, not agitated in the least! We didn't try to have her check anyone for drugs this time - we'll save that for another party! LOL!
Going to school again tomorrow, so I gave Sally a pep talk on being more assertive with her classmates on letting them know that Sasha is working and not there to play. All the students in the class are young adults with mild-moderate disabilities, so that might be a challenge, but we'll get there!
Lots of firsts this weekend!

Maybe you can also instruct the teachers a little to make sure the students leave Sacha alone so she can work?

Re: Lots of firsts this weekend!
Yes, Sally and I talked about that this morning........she needs to take control and ask the other students not to be petting or interacting with her in the classroom; they can go outdoors and take a tennis ball break periodically and play for a few minues then. Sally really wants to do things herself, but if this doesn't work, we'll have a talk with the teacher - I'm sure it's irritating to the teacher as well to have all the kids distracted by the dog, and we definitely don't want that!
It's almost time to pick her up and I haven't had a "she's wiggly" call, so it must be going well today!

They had a good day today! Sally said she had to ask a couple of people to please leave Sasha alone; her good friend helped back her up on that, as did the teacher. Sally was extremely concerned that Sasha wouldn't pee when she took her outside.......she did immediately when we got home, so I told her Sasha must just have a shy bladder!

- Tell us about yourself: I have had a DS for almost a year. Gwen and I are considering participating in PSA and or possible Ring Sport. I also have a Great Dane. I have grown up around working GSDs and my last GSD was a working K9 officer. I am all about dogs and animals in general and want to learn as much as I can about training.
