ok so is there a wrong fake brindle and a real brindle or like someone said some are just "painted with a wider brush?"

i swear im not usually this dumb but judging by the posts ive had today, no one will believe that!

So.....was brindle in the wild? Or was there a mutation and a brindle color came out and someone thought... "wow, thats cool"

Now... I hope im not opening a can of creation/evolution worms here.

I also don't think there are thinner/thicker stripes, there is just smaller or bigger amount of them, so sometimes there is just a few on the base, and sometimes they are so dense that the dog appear almost black, or looks like black with ligher (f.ex. brown) stripes.

Or am I wrong??

The working of the modifier that causes more or less black to display is yet unknown. The theory is that it is a wider stripe. It *could* be more stripes that blend together, but that should probably cause an intermediate pattern where a dog has a lot of very narrow stripes, and that patten is never seen, leading to the 'wider' assumption. (envision a pen drawing where you are trying to color some area's. Before it becomes dense, you should go through a stage where is looks scribbeled) But again. There is no proof for either theory (how the modifier that controls the amount of black works) so there is no answer that proves you wrong.
