Sadie can be used as tear gas

I think i am going to rent her to the military to use as tear gas. Her farts have been killing me. I thought they were bad when she has some pork, but I have her on Keen by Honest Kitchen, and I love their product but this one dosnt love Sadie. They are lethal!!!!!! It dosnt seem to bother Thalie, but then again, nothing does. I keep my doors closed so they dont go anywhere during the night and get into problems. So ill wake up in the night gasping !!!

Poor Sadie ! Something is sitting in her tummy developing lots of gas and we are making fun of her!

Although I think the Honest Kitchen is great food and I like the concept of dehydrated, Marco didn't do too well on the Keen (Turkey/Oats/etc.) either. The oats came out pretty much un-digested. The Labs digested it fully, no problem. When I cook the oats and mix it with raw eggs (they set in the hot oats), Marco digests them just fine.

I don't want to start a discussion about feeding grains or not but in my opinion if they are feed, they need to be cooked or else some dogs might not be able to digest it.

The HK Keen formula contains Cabbage, and while it might go well in Sadie Soup, it's probably what's giving her gas.
I have better luck with the Thrive and Embark.
Some of the formulas also contain rye that can cause a problem with some dogs. It's a matter of finding what your dog does the best with.

Sadie isnt the lady like type, now Thalie...........she is the lady of the house, I dont think in 10 years I have heard her fart. Sadie.....she has farted more times in 1.5 years than all of us.

I use the HK along with the meat. Basically they get a small morning meal of HK, then all meat/bone at night. Seems to keep everything working nicely and saves the freezer space for great meat sales instead of taking up the space to freeze all those veggies. (Just got 3 cases--40 lbs. each, of chicken leg quarters, with the backs, @ 69 cents per lb. Each piece is quite big.)

Hunting season is here, and I'll have room for that in the freezer too!! Usually get lots of heart, liver, tongue, necks, rib cage,and legs. Lazy hunters want to keep the parts that are easier to process, and some don't bother with the front shoulder at all----lots of good meat there, just takes awhile to cut up---and of course some just want to mount the head and don't use any of the meat. (I think if you kill it, you should use as much as possible. Let's not get started on that subject tho. )

I usually mix some meat in there or like you Chris, HK one meal, meat another. I just got some nice chicken for them today and gave them straight chicken, no farts yet!!! It will be nice to have a gas free sleep. Im almost out of Keen so Ill get a different one next time.

Stella can clear a room faster then my husband! I switched her to a salmon based grain free food hopefully it will help! She gets nervous in the car when we go somewhere she isn't familiar with and really lets em rip.... I'm about ready to teach her to hang her butt out the window!
