Tonight towards the end of my bi-daily walk with Radar - Radar's less than a year old and a rescue - at a house three doors down' their GIANT bull dog comes out form behind a car while I was exchanging greetings with the resident. Radar got hold of the bulldog's neck and wouldn't let go. No blood or broken skin, but displaced hair, mostly due to the size of the opposing dog. I know I am ok having Radar on a leash, and his dog wasn't,but I don't condone this behavior. I need opinions. Was Radar in the wrong? Any suggestions on what was on Radar's mind? Best way for correction?
Thank God it was me and not wife. It could have been a different scene.

Re: Should I be concerned?
Sorry, I just had an epiphany on this. The bulldog scares me, and Radar knew this. He was protecting me. What a great friend I have.
I had a GSD as a child, same story, but it was a human in the mix.
I hope there's no litigation involved....

I was on the sidewalk with Radar on a leash. Tyson, the bulldog, walked up head high and tail up. There was a cheek to cheek growl exchange, and then Radar clamped down on his neck. The owner of Tyson grabbed him around the waist, and I pulled Radar with the leash. No blood, but Tyson lost some hair.
