Tell us about yourself: I've had Belgian Malinois for years at my folks. I just got married, and a friend of mine who does search and rescue, had been keeping an eye out for Mali puppies for me. He came across a 9 month old Dutch Shepherd female pup who needed a home. She doesn't have the nerves to do the search and rescue she was intended for, but is perfect pet material. She's enough of a challenge to be alot of fun :)
Just thought I'd share some fun photos I took of Rufus today. Can't wait until some more leaves fall and I can /try/ to get some even neater photos of him covered lol.
As a side note, he had a vet checkup a few days ago. At 18 weeks(ish) he is up to 35.5 lbs and seems to be developing a slight overbite, but otherwise is growing and developing great! His ears are flopping all over the place now, standing up here and there almost every few minutes haha. Puppy teeth are coming out and being replaced by less needle-like adult teeth.
The ones of him on his back look so much like Maiya it's uncanny. It's like looking at the same dog!

Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.
Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!
I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences.
Tell us about yourself: I'm a 23 year old military member who just got my first Dutch shepherd. I've grown up my whole life with various breeds and trained Rhodesian ridgebacks for several years prior to joining the service.

Tell us about yourself: Howdy, We are a family of rescues, (yeah, me included), in Southern California. My wife and I currently have two dogs, a Golden Retriever/ GSD mix by the name of Morgan, and our DS mix(?), Dinga Roo. We had never even heard of a Dutch Shepherd before until we were stalked by this nice lady in the pet store who asked us if Roo was a DS. Dang if that lady wasn't on to something. I just found this site, so here we are....
Happy looking lil dude there. He's coming along well.
