Tell us about yourself: I've had Belgian Malinois for years at my folks. I just got married, and a friend of mine who does search and rescue, had been keeping an eye out for Mali puppies for me. He came across a 9 month old Dutch Shepherd female pup who needed a home. She doesn't have the nerves to do the search and rescue she was intended for, but is perfect pet material. She's enough of a challenge to be alot of fun :)

Hey all! Just a little update.

Rufus is doing great! He is such a blessing and is a wonderful puppy. He is now up 40+ lbs-we aren't sure exactly, as we don't have a way to weigh him. At his last vet visit 3+ weeks ago, he was 35.5 lbs, and he is definitely over that now. He is the absolute BEST puppy, and we are so glad we were able to get him. (Thanks again, Eric!!) He is very smart, and picks up commands very quickly. :) He's been completely housebroken for over a month, and has been loose in our bedroom (big step for only 20 weeks old!) for the last 4 days at night!

Tell us about yourself: My name is Emily. I am the mother of two girls (human!!). We have one beagle named Charlie who is three and a new puppy named Asha. She is about 9 weeks old and we think she is a Dutch Shepherd Dog mix.

OMG big boy! Loook at that belly!! Asha does that same thing with her leash, it's the "Come on, come one, let's go" and then the "Ok, Ok you can let me off now to chase the squirrels!"

Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.

Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!

I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences.

Tell us about yourself: Artist, Mother, Equestrienne, Educator, Homesteader wannabe, dog-lover. Not counting my current DS, I have had 2 GSDs and 3 rescued mixed-breeds. All of these dogs were rescues, except for my childhood GSD, who was a gift from my parents when I was 7, and my current DS who I bartered artwork for from the breeder. Maiyou, one of my current dogs, is a Pitbull/New Guinea Singing Dog of 13 years old. Still very active and "Young" in nature. I now also have a DS named Mokume, (pronounced "Moh-koo-meh") or "Moko" for short. Newest member of our pack is Freyja, a random mixed hound I rescued during a horseback trip in the middle of a state forest.

Adorable! So glad you are all so happy! You and he all deserve it! Gotta ask... I wondered in some other shots you and others posted, does he have one eye much lighter in color than the other, or is that impression a trick of the light and angle of the photo being taken? It's a striking effect.

He does have one eye lighter. :) one eye is light greyish brown and his other is dark brown. Not a trick of your imagination/the light! :)

Tell us about yourself: I'm a 23 year old military member who just got my first Dutch shepherd. I've grown up my whole life with various breeds and trained Rhodesian ridgebacks for several years prior to joining the service.

Thanks! Yea, he's adorable with the floppy ears. Not sure if they are going to go up, or remain floppy. The right one seems to want to stand, but can't stay up long haha.
