On the way back from the delivery of Rufus, a night in a cabin in the Smokey Mtns, then a day in dog-friendly Asheville, NC, we drove back across US129--a very famous route over the NC-TN border better known as "the Tail of the Dragon." It has 318 curves in 11 miles and has become a mecca of sorts for motorcycle and sportscar enthusiasts from all over the country. They get such a high volume of that traffic that there are several entrepreneur photographers that setup every weekend along the route to take pictures of each vehicle that passes to later sell on the web. Santa Claus must've deployed some of his elves out there this year, because I got some of these today:

Tell us about yourself: My name is Emily. I am the mother of two girls (human!!). We have one beagle named Charlie who is three and a new puppy named Asha. She is about 9 weeks old and we think she is a Dutch Shepherd Dog mix.

Tell us about yourself: I've had Belgian Malinois for years at my folks. I just got married, and a friend of mine who does search and rescue, had been keeping an eye out for Mali puppies for me. He came across a 9 month old Dutch Shepherd female pup who needed a home. She doesn't have the nerves to do the search and rescue she was intended for, but is perfect pet material. She's enough of a challenge to be alot of fun :)

Tell us about yourself: My name is Heather. My husband and I are empty nesters in or mid 40. We bought a 8 wk old ds from a breeder. We got the name buy a new neighbor. I bought thr dog because we both just putvthe last of or 3 dogs down. I had a dalmatian before I met my husband 4 yeats ago. The love of my life. Iove dogs that are smart and full of energy. I lve hiking but need yhe push. I am just learning alot about the new little guy, but I need more info.
Though I can only hope to become the person who my animals believe I am, the things that they have taught me have made me a better human being. ~~~Sharon~~~
