This winter, I was given the opportunity to run the Boston Marathon by fundraising for Baypath Humane Society of Hopkinton, MA (http://baypathhumane.org. They are a non-profit, no-kill shelter for dogs and cats. As this is considered a "charity" bib, I didn't have to run a Boston qualifying time at a previous marathon, BUT I still have to do all of the training and commit to a $2500 fundraising goal. To date, the fundraising is lagging behind the training. I have run up to 30K (18.64 miles), but have only raised about 10% of my goal.
So, if after helping NADSR and Dutch Shepherds in need, you are able to donate any amount to Baypath Humane Society, that would be really appreciated by me and would be put to good use by the folks at Baypath.
At first glance, this may appear to be an "off-breed" topic and request, but I was floored to see a Dutch Shepherd that was adopted from Baypath at their Paws and Claws 5K race last October.
Donations can be made online at
