Hey guys,

I am a proud owner of a 10 yr old Malinois that was just diagnosed with Transitional Cellular Carcinoma. We decided to start searching for a new dog to fill the void she will leave when she passes. We also have a male Am Staff that is going to need a buddy when she is gone. We are very much looking for a female Dutch or Mal puppy.

I have never owned a high drive dog like a Mal until her 10 years ago and I don't think I can ever own another "pet" breed ever again. She is my hiking, fishing, rock crawling, frisbee dog and my best friend....maybe a few humans are ahead of her but only a few. The cancer diagnosis hit us pretty hard and came out of nowhere when we took her in for a urinary tract infection. It is inoperable and the only possibly procedure to prolong her life is nearly $12k when you factor in 4 weeks of expenses in Fort Collins at CSU.

That said we decided to give her the best possible diet (I make all her food), medication and supplementation we can until she passes. I am hoping that finding a Mal or Dutch puppy before she passes will be something to improve her "morale"/ quality of life as she is a super spunky social and fun dog.

if any of you know of a stellar Dutch or Mal breeder I should look at please message me or post here. I have done a ton of research but in the end the referrals of people with first hand experience would be far more helpful.

Thats the thing. She feels great. She still acts like a 5 yr old. Basically once the tumor obstructs her bladder she will be done as I understand it. So she will pretty much feel 100% until she cannot urinate or the cancer spreads. They told me that it will likely obstruct her urinary tract before it spreads.

Thanks for the Golden Paste tip. I will check it out.

If she feels good then now is the time for another dog so your other dog has time to bond with it so when its time, they are friends.
