Hi all,
Brand new to the forum & brand new to dutchies! Love the breed for a while and finally located a great breeder around here. Browsed the forum a lot too which helped in my decision so thank you all!
The breeder already had the pups on raw food and supplied me with some for a bit, she is having under a pound daily right now, but my question is for those who do feed their dog's raw meals;
what is the daily amount you feed to your dog? And if you could include their weight for a reference I'd love that!
Thank you everyone,
Daniel

Feedings should be between 2-3% of the dogs ideal body weight. I feed my girl 2.5% of her body weight. She weighs 60lbs, so she eats 1&1/2 lbs per day. When she was a pup I split her meals into an am/pm feeding. But since she's older I feed her everything in the morning.

Thanks! I'm also am/pm split right now with my pup. Many friends also feed their grown dogs all at once in morning (that do raw).Jaykrysten wrote:Feedings should be between 2-3% of the dogs ideal body weight. I feed my girl 2.5% of her body weight. Re: Raw meals per day?
Pups have specific needs on raw that differ slightly from adult dogs. Some feed them smaller but more frequently and higher %, while others adjust calcium and phosphorus levels to prevent excessive growth and possible joint problems later. Best advice would be to join a raw feeding group/co-op and ask this Q. There's some decent groups I'm in with a few breeders I can refer you to via PM if you wish.
