Very possesive over toys

We just adopted our Nashe a couple weeks ago and we don't have a solid fenced yard either. I came up with a perfect place to play ball with him....the street hockey rink in town. With the cold weather, there usually isn't anyone there. With the solid walls and high fence, he doesn't get distracted and can't get out! Lucky for me it's only 6 miles from our house. I just make sure I'm prepared to clean up after him if I need to. Maybe you have a rink close to you, too? Just thought I'd share! Good luck and thanks for adopting!!

Ya, we have a tennis court (fenced) at the park near by. People bring their dogs in their to play all the time..

Just a word of caution - the footing in tennis courts (don't know about field hockey) is a very course cement. Many, many dogs rub the pads off of their feet when playing fetch on those substrates. Like many, many, many, many!!!! The stopping, turning and skidding can do some real (albeit temporary) painful damage.

I played tennis in high school and I usually went through 2 pairs of shoes a season from that traction coating.

They lock all the tennis courts up for the winter around here anyway. Odin and I go to the outdoor track and field center at my old college. They don't have a team any more so the area where the field events were is never used. I still have my student ID and can get access.

Okay Chicago area people. We have about 650 more feet of fence to put up across the back side of the pasture (volunteers welcome) to complete a 13 acre perimeter fence. I rent my goats out for weed control so when the fence is finished and they are not here and the hay has been cut, bring the puppies up here for a good run.

Take I-90 to Beloit. I'm about an hour west of there.

What a nice offer Boofies! I wish I had 13 acres of fenced area to turn my two loose...

I agree that the bike riding tires my wild child out better than anything. She is having to think and follow commands and gets a good long trot. Running does help even if I wear out before they do. But don't discount how tiring it is to make him think and learn. Frisbee is also great fun for both of ours. We are lucky to have a large mowed ball field~ no fence but surrounded on all sides by rivers. We run in the am. Play frisbee till WE drop, and take a late night walk before bed. Also we train obedience off and on all day. And you know what? They are never too tired to go, go, GO!

Clicker training is fun and easy and you can teach him almost anything. Even silly things. It is the thinking that exhausts them. Good luck and thanks for sticking with him!

Ps. Mine also LOVES a horse sized Jolly ball, (or varsity ball) but that does require a fenced area.

That is the best idea !!!!! I would love to find a fenced area to play with the girls, mostly for Sadie, so she can be loose and not worry. Im going to have to try my local courts go play.
